On Wednesday my dearly beloved, no not the wife, this one is due for it’s first service since the wife and I bought the car at the back end of last year. I am quietly worried about the cost of this, I have heard many scary things about BMW service costs. Oh well. it’s what comes with the territory I supose.

If it’s still under warranty, then you should probably go to the dealer; base costs may be more expensive, but they do tend to be good, and should cover anything applicable under the warranty.
If it’s not under warranty, I strongly recommend Marc at German Performance Systems – excellent BMW mechanic. Like any good independent BMW mechanic, he’ll do a thorough job and give honest advice at a much lower price.
