ASF Infra Project – LDAP

As some of you may know I have been touting the use of LDAP for access control, within the ASF for some time now.  Well lookie here, we have started the ball rolling.

There is a working group, we have agreed in some form what basic structure we want, and the goals of the project.

At the moment, Emmnauel and I are installing a copy of Apache DS, and imorting approx 2000 users.
Come the new year we want to be testing some of the core requirements

  • Multi Master
  • Site to site replication
  • Subversion and Shell access for pilot test group.
If you think you, or your project would like to be involved in the pilot testing, drop us a line on the infrastructure-dev mailing list.
Things are looking up for LDAP.  We are testing with Apache DS, and Apache DS Studio.  Fingers crossed!
