ps on Solaris cut at 80 chars, no longer…

If like me you always forget that Solaris will trim the output of the command in ps to 80 chars, you will know just how annoying it can be.  Well I finally found a half decent way of seeing the full args to a command.

ps -eo pid | xargs pargs -l

Enjoy!

and the features keep on coming…

Today, the ASF infra team enabled the latest feature available to all committers, users can now modify their SpamAssassin threshold score.  This will let users set their own preferred SA level, which is now stored in LDAP.

If you want to modify your score you can do so using id.apache.org you can also read the official Infra team blog

The ASF’s new account tool — https://id.apache.org

For the past week or so, danielsh and I have been working on getting the password reset utility up and running.  You can read the ASF blog post here, and if you’re an ASF committer you can use the service here

This has been a long time coming, and only really got started again accidentally after a conversation in IRC.   You should read the official Infra team blog post, as there are currently a few limitations and known bugs.  These will be fixed in due course.

It is great that we can get this up and running before the forthcoming ASF members meeting, as this is usually a time when a lot of password resets are requested.

As always if you have any questions you should direct them to the infrastructure team.

Getting out more

Last weekend the wife and I became members of the National Trust, again. We decided we wanted to get out and take in more of the scenery around us, hopefully some not quite so close.

This membership allows to get into some rather pretty and beautiful properties, and venues that the UK has too offer.  With that, we have now been to Wicken Fen [photos] and Wimpole Hall [photos] – not that we haven’t been before, but our membership is forcing us to get out.  So that can only be a good thing.
